UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Lazy Horse RV Park ~ formerly known as Blue Heron, is under new management as of June 27, 2025!

Past reservations are still in place.  Future reservations will be easier to book online, with flexible policies.

We hope changes to the website will answer your questions and bring more attention to our local herd of Wild Horses and our amazing riverfront location on the "New Klamath River."

Danny and Julie are excited to acquire the park at a great time, when the river has been restored, the salmon are returning, and a new road is soon to be paved!  They have many years of property management and hospitality experience, and are thrilled to live on site along with our happy herd of horses and humans!

HORSIN' AROUND

Our park is a popular hangout for wild horses who roam freely around our "open range" county.  Though we cannot guarantee their whereabouts every day, they love our easy river access, green grass and welcoming humans.  Disclaimer:  Horses may appear "Lazy" when passed out near your camper, but they ARE wild and unpredictable!

HISTORY   Here in the State of Jefferson, Wild Horses are as American as apple pie, and a few open range counties in NorCal still allow them to roam wild and free.  Learn about the history of our local herd, efforts to preserve them, and their designation as the Wild Horse Fire Brigade.

RIVERFRONT ACTIVITIES

Bring your float tubes or raft.  Kids can fish in our pond.  Hire a river guide who will pick you up here.  Explore nearby trails (new ones going in upstream) and wander on a self-guided tour of the largest river restoration project in the world.  "New Klamath" guides:    Indigo Creek Outfitters   &   High Country Expeditions

NO PARTIES  Our guests return year after year to hang with the horses on our peaceful riverbanks.  While we welcome wholesome family fun, those disturbing the peace will not be tolerated.  However, we are planning a community fire pit by the river!  Bring your hot dogs and s'mores and grab some river rocks!

We had the best time at Lazy Horse RV park!!!  The new owners are very friendly and clearly want the very best for this adorable park!  One of the campground hosts greeted us within 5 minutes of checking in.  My daughter wanted to take a horse home!  We borrowed tubes, kayaks and life jackets and my husband and 12 year old kayaked 6 miles down the Klamath River while my 6 year old and I stayed and played in the river at the park.  My son also fished and fished and fished!!  The whole trip was wrapped up with magical thunder and lightening storms!  It was such a memorable experience.
